Research and Academic Focus
His scientific and academic activities are focused on secondary metallurgy and physical modelling of metallurgical processes, a graduate of the Faculty of Metallurgy, focus: Metallurgy of iron and steel. Currently employed at the Faculty of Materials, Metallurgy and Recycling at the Technical University of Košice at the position of Director of Institute of Metallurgy. The area of his scientific work is focused on three important fields. The most significant is the field of physical modelling of the continuous steel casting processes, in which he has been working on since 2006. He is also involved in the field of secondary processing and the cleanliness of steel and the problems of metal-slag- lining interactions. He is the head of the Laboratory of flow process simulation (LSPP), which was built in collaboration with U.S. Steel Košice, s.r.o. and was also the first head of the laboratory "Physical model of ŽP, a.s. tundish – SimConT", which was built as a joint facility of ŽP VVC, s.r.o. and FMMR in the years 2016 – 2017. He is author or co-author of more than 70 scientific publications (Scopus h-index 8).
From the perspective of his scientific and pedagogical output is involved in teaching students of the Faculty materials, metallurgy and recycling in the context of lectures and seminars on subjects: Theory of metallurgical processes, physicochemical foundations of ferrous metallurgy, Theoretical foundations of steelmaking processes, Metallurgy of iron and steel. At the same time he acts as tutor of doctoral, master's and bachelor thesis. During his tenure at the faculty he have tutored, or is tutoring 4 post-graduates, 15 master level, and 12 bachelor level students.
